Hope Grows II – Director
Grace Persaud-Pearson
Maryland Child Care Credential – Staff Level 4
My name is Grace Persaud- Pearson and I am the director of Hope Grows Child Development Center II located on Century Boulevard in Germantown, MD. As a teenager, in my native country, Guyana, I had a plan to study accounting after high school and become an accountant. This was a plan I pursued when I immigrated to America.
I Immigrated to the United States and worked in junior and senior positions at different firms and during that time, I enrolled at the University of Maryland and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in May 1999. In keeping with my plans, I accepted several management positions within my field, including Controller for ACIES Corporation in 2007.
However, along the way, I found my true passion. As my family grew to six grandchildren, I realized how much I loved spending time with children and contributing to their growth and development. Additionally, I pursued studies in Early Childhood Development and seized the opportunity to leverage my management experience to launch a new career in education, working with Hope Grows Child Development Center and utilizing my early childhood training and passion for children.
